SSC Stenographer 2025 Selection Process

The SSC Stenographer 2025 examination will be conducted at 2 different levels. The first level is the Grade C and D exam which comprises MCQs and is conducted online. After this exam has been conducted, an exam to test your skill sets in various domains is conducted by SSC.

SSC Stenographer Preparation Tips

SSC Stenographer Exam is conducted annually and lakhs of candidates appear in the exam, increasing the competition level. So 

1. Understand the Syllabus and Pattern: Review the detailed syllabus and exam pattern in the notification to prioritise high-weightage topics.
2. Use Recommended Books: Refer to standard books like Lucent’s General Knowledge, R.S. Aggarwal for Reasoning and Mathematics, and Wren & Martin for English.
3. Time Management: Allocate time effectively during the CBT (e.g., 40 minutes for English, 30 minutes each for Reasoning and General Awareness).
4. Attempt Mock Tests: Candidates must practice with weekly and monthly full length mock tests to improve speed and accuracy, especially for the CBT.
5. Practice with SSC Stenographer Previous Year Papers: Solve past papers to understand question types and difficulty levels.
6. Stay Updated on Current Affairs: Read newspapers and follow reliable sources for General Awareness preparation.
7. Focus on Stenography: Practice shorthand daily to meet the required speed for the skill test (100 wpm for Grade C, 80 wpm for Grade D).
